Recruiting PHASE4 Tirzepatide

New treatment option for Tirzepatide

Official title Tirzepatide (Spartina) in Obese Kidney Transplant Recipients

ClinicalTrials.gov ID: NCT07423247

What this study is testing

What is Tirzepatide?

Tirzepatide is an investigational medicine, given as an once-weekly injection under the skin, being studied as a potential treatment for tirzepatide.

Also referred to as Spartina.

Plain-language explanation of the investigational treatment - it is being studied and is not an approved or proven therapy. The study team can confirm the details.

What it's testing
Post-transplant obesity is a common complication after kidney transplantation, largely attributed to recovery from uremia, increased appetite, sedentary lifestyle, and long-term corticosteroid exposure. Obesity in kidney transplant recipients increases the risk of cardiovascular disease, post-transplant diabetes mellitus (PTDM), and may contribute to graft injury through hyperfiltration-related mechanisms, potentially leading to reduced graft survival.
  • Phase 4: studies an already-approved treatment
  • Time commitment: about 24 weeks
  • Which group you join is decided by chance.
