Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is the most frequent endocrine disorder affecting women of reproductive age, with a prevalence of 10 to 13%. PCOS is characterized by irregular menstrual cylcles/ovulatory dysfunction, hyperandrogenism, and polycystic ovarian morphology.
