Recruiting PHASE2 Anatomic Stage III Breast Cancer AJCC v8

New treatment option for Anatomic Stage III Breast Cancer AJCC v8

Official title Tamoxifen and Pegylated Liposomal Doxorubicin for the Treatment of Patients With Metastatic or Inoperable, Locally Advanced Triple Negative Breast Cancer

ClinicalTrials.gov ID: NCT06434064

What this study is testing

What is Pegylated Liposomal Doxorubicin Hydrochloride?

Pegylated Liposomal Doxorubicin Hydrochloride is an investigational medicine, given as an once-daily infusion into a vein, being studied as a potential treatment for anatomic stage iii breast cancer ajcc v8.

Also referred to as ATI-0918, Caelyx.

Plain-language explanation of the investigational treatment - it is being studied and is not an approved or proven therapy. The study team can confirm the details.

What it's testing
This phase II trial tests how well tamoxifen and pegylated liposomal doxorubicin works in treating patients with triple negative breast cancer that has spread from where it first started (primary site) to other places in the body (metastatic) or that has spread to nearby tissue or lymph nodes (locally advanced) and is unable to be operated on (inoperable). Tamoxifen works by blocking the effects of estrogen in the breast.
  • Phase 2: a mid-size study of how well it works
  • Time commitment: about 2 years
