Recruiting PHASE2 Acute Myeloid Leukemia

New treatment option for Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Official title Venetoclax and HMA Treatment of Older and Unfit Adults With FLT3 Mutated Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) (A MyeloMATCH Treatment Trial)

ClinicalTrials.gov ID: NCT06317649

What this study is testing

What is Azacitidine?

Azacitidine is an investigational medicine, given as an injection under the skin, being studied as a potential treatment for acute myeloid leukemia.

Also referred to as 5 AZC, 5-AC.

Plain-language explanation of the investigational treatment - it is being studied and is not an approved or proven therapy. The study team can confirm the details.

What it's testing
This phase II MyeloMATCH treatment trial compares the usual treatment of azacitidine and venetoclax to the combination treatment of azacitidine, venetoclax and gilteritinib in treating older and unfit patients with acute myeloid leukemia and FLT3 mutations. Azacitidine is a drug that is absorbed into DNA and leads to the activation of cancer suppressor genes, which are genes that help control cell growth.
