Official title European Larynx Organ Preservation Study (ELOS) [MK-3475-C44]

ClinicalTrials.gov ID: NCT06137378

What this study is testing

What is KEYTRUDA®?

KEYTRUDA® is an investigational medicine, being studied as a potential treatment for squamous cell carcinoma of head and neck.

Also referred to as Pembrolizumab, MK-3475.

Plain-language explanation of the investigational treatment - it is being studied and is not an approved or proven therapy. The study team can confirm the details.

What it's testing
ELOS is a prospective, randomized, open-label, controlled, two-armed parallel group, phase II multicentre trial in local advanced stage III, IVA/B head and neck squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx or hypopharynx (LHNSCC) with PD-L1-expression within tumor tissue biopsy, calculated as CPS ≥ 1 curable by total laryngectomy. Induction chemotherapy (IC) with Docetaxel and Cisplatin (TP) followed by radiation will be compared to additional PD-1 inhibition.
  • Phase 2: a mid-size study of how well it works
  • Which group you join is decided by chance.
