New treatment option for Lung Non-Small Cell Carcinoma
Official title Biologically Guided Radiation Therapy (BgRT) and Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) to Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitor in Oligoprogressive Oncogenic Positive Non-Small Cell Lung Carcinoma
ClinicalTrials.gov ID: NCT06014827
What this study is testing
What is Osimertinib?
Osimertinib is an investigational medicine, given as an once-daily infusion into a vein, being studied as a potential treatment for lung non-small cell carcinoma.
Also referred to as AZD-9291, AZD9291.
Plain-language explanation of the investigational treatment - it is being studied and is not an approved or proven therapy. The study team can confirm the details.
- What it's testing
- This phase II trial tests how well biologically guided radiation therapy (BgRT) and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) with osimertinib works for the treatment of EGFR positive non-small cell lung carcinoma that has spread from where it first started (primary site) to a limited number of anatomic sites (oligoprogressive). BgRT is radiation that uses specialized imaging to during treatment to target the active tumor and direct radiation to tumors in order to kill and shrink tumor cells.
- Phase 2: a mid-size study of how well it works
A plain-language read of the study's public ClinicalTrials.gov listing. The study team confirms the details.
