- Suspicion of HAP/VAP (clinical/radiological/laboratory criteria);
- Availability to perform tracheal aspirates or broncoalveolar lavage within 1 hour from clinical suspicion
- Life expectancy ≥ 48 hours
- Signed written informed consent.
