Recruiting PHASE1, PHASE2 Hepatocellular Carcinoma

New treatment option for Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Official title Targeting Ischemia-Induced Autophagy Dependence in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

ClinicalTrials.gov ID: NCT05842174

What this study is testing

What is Hydroxychloroquine?

Hydroxychloroquine is an investigational medicine, given as an once-daily infusion into a vein, being studied as a potential treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma.

Plain-language explanation of the investigational treatment - it is being studied and is not an approved or proven therapy. The study team can confirm the details.

What it's testing
Trans-arterial chemoembolization (TACE) is the most commonly used therapy for patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). TACE is a minimally invasive procedure that involves placing a catheter into the artery in the liver that feeds the tumor, administering chemotherapeutics and then blocking the artery with embolics in order to kill tumor cells by depriving them of essential oxygen and nutrients.
