Compares treatment options for Metastatic Digestive System Neuroendocrine Tumor G1
Official title Comparing Retreatment of 177Lu-DOTATATE PRRT Versus the Usual Treatment in Patients With Metastatic Unresectable Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors, NET RETREAT Trial
ClinicalTrials.gov ID: NCT05773274
What this study is testing
What is Cabozantinib?
Cabozantinib is an investigational medicine, given as an once-daily infusion into a vein, being studied as a potential treatment for metastatic digestive system neuroendocrine tumor g1.
Plain-language explanation of the investigational treatment - it is being studied and is not an approved or proven therapy. The study team can confirm the details.
- What it's testing
- This phase II trial compares the effect of retreatment with 177Lu-DOTATATE peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT) to the usual approach of treatment with everolimus, sunitinib, or cabozantinib in patients who have previously received 177Lu-DOTATATE for gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumor (GEPNET) that has spread from where it first started (primary site) to other places in the body (metastatic) and that cannot be removed by surgery (unresectable). PRRT is a type of radiation therapy for which a radioactive chemical is linked to a peptide (small protein) that targets tumor cells.
- Phase 2: a mid-size study of how well it works
- Which group you join is decided by chance.
