New treatment option for Recurrent Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukemia
Official title Onvansertib for the Treatment of Recurrent or Refractory Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukemia and Myelodysplastic Syndrome/MPN Overlap Neoplasms
ClinicalTrials.gov ID: NCT05549661
What this study is testing
What is Onvansertib?
Onvansertib is an investigational medicine, given as an once-daily infusion into a vein, being studied as a potential treatment for recurrent chronic myelomonocytic leukemia.
Also referred to as 'PLK1 Inhibitor PCM-075, NMS-1286937.
Plain-language explanation of the investigational treatment - it is being studied and is not an approved or proven therapy. The study team can confirm the details.
- What it's testing
- This phase I trial evaluates the safety, effectiveness, and best dose of onvansertib for the treatment of patients with chronic myelomonocytic leukemia and Myelodysplastic syndrome/myeloproliferative neoplasm (MDS/MPN) overlap neoplasms that has come back (recurrent) or that does not respond to treatment (refractory). Onvansertib is a drug that binds to and inhibits an enzyme called PLK1, preventing cancer cell proliferation and causing cell death.
- Phase 1: an early, usually small safety study
