New treatment option for Anatomic Stage IV Breast Cancer AJCC v8
Official title Ivermectin in Combination With Balstilimab or Pembrolizumab in Patients With Metastatic Triple Negative Breast Cancer
ClinicalTrials.gov ID: NCT05318469
What this study is testing
What is Ivermectin?
Ivermectin is an investigational medicine, given as an once-daily infusion into a vein, being studied as a potential treatment for anatomic stage iv breast cancer ajcc v8.
Also referred to as Sklice, Stromectol.
Plain-language explanation of the investigational treatment - it is being studied and is not an approved or proven therapy. The study team can confirm the details.
- What it's testing
- This phase II trial studies the side effects and best dose of ivermectin in combination with balstilimab or pembrolizumab and to see how well they they work in shrinking tumors in patients with triple negative breast cancer that has spread to other places in the body (metastatic). Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as balstilimab or pembrolizumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread.
- Phase 2: a mid-size study of how well it works
