Recruiting PHASE2 Biliary Tract Cancer

New treatment option for Biliary Tract Cancer

Official title Olaparib With or Without Durvalumab for DDR Gene Mutated Biliary Tract Cancer Following Platinum-based Chemotherapy

ClinicalTrials.gov ID: NCT05222971

What this study is testing

What is Durvalumab?

Durvalumab is an investigational medicine, given as an infusion into a vein, being studied as a potential treatment for biliary tract cancer.

Plain-language explanation of the investigational treatment - it is being studied and is not an approved or proven therapy. The study team can confirm the details.

What it's testing
First-line gemcitabine plus cisplatin chemotherapy is the standard first-line treatment for unresectable or metastatic advanced biliary tract cancer and the optimal duration of the treatment is not mentioned in current clinical guidelines. In the pivotal phase 3 ABC-02 trial, patients received up to 6 to 8 cycles of treatment and stopped without maintenance and our retrospective study shows no significant benefit of continuing gemcitabine plus cisplatin beyond 6 to 8 cycles.
  • Phase 2: a mid-size study of how well it works
