Recruiting PHASE1 Locally Advanced Skin Squamous Cell Carcinoma

New treatment option for Locally Advanced Skin Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Official title Radiotherapy in Combination With Atezolizumab in Locally Advanced Borderline Resectable or Unresectable Cutaneous SCC

ClinicalTrials.gov ID: NCT05085496

What this study is testing

What is Atezolizumab?

Atezolizumab is an investigational medicine, given as an infusion into a vein, being studied as a potential treatment for locally advanced skin squamous cell carcinoma.

Also referred to as MPDL 3280A, MPDL 328OA.

Plain-language explanation of the investigational treatment - it is being studied and is not an approved or proven therapy. The study team can confirm the details.

What it's testing
This phase I trial tests the safety and side effects radiotherapy in combination with atezolizumab in treating patients with cutaneous squamous cell cancer that has spread to nearby tissue or lymph nodes (locally advanced) and can be removed from surgery (resectable) or cannot be remove by surgery (unresectable). Stereotactic body radiation therapy uses special equipment to position a patient and deliver radiation to tumors with high precision.
