- after surgery
- unable to ingest oral nutrition
- need for long-term nutrition,
- terminal condition
- acute pancreatitis or acute liver failure
- patients discharged to a nursing home
- patients unlikely to comply with nutritional support treatment (e.g., dementia)
- COVID-Hospitalisation requiring intensive care
