Compares treatment options for Lupus Nephritis
Official title Induction Therapy for Lupus Nephritis With no Added Oral Steroids: A Trial Comparing Oral Corticosteroids Plus Mycophenolate Mofetil (MMF) Versus Obinutuzumab and MMF
ClinicalTrials.gov ID: NCT04702256
What this study is testing
What is Obinutuzumab administration?
Obinutuzumab administration is an investigational medicine, given as an infusion into a vein, being studied as a potential treatment for lupus nephritis.
Also referred to as GAZYVARO® administration.
Plain-language explanation of the investigational treatment - it is being studied and is not an approved or proven therapy. The study team can confirm the details.
- What it's testing
- This is a randomised, open label, controlled non-inferiority phase III multicentre trial. As primary objective, the study aims to demonstrate that a regimen free of additional oral corticosteroids but with obinutuzumab (and MMF) is non-inferior to a regimen based on oral corticosteroids and MMF in achieving the primary outcome of complete renal response at week 52 without receiving corticosteroids above a prespecified dose.
- Phase 3: a large, late-stage study
- Which group you join is decided by chance.
