New treatment option for Recurrent Ovarian High Grade Serous Adenocarcinoma
Official title Testing the Addition of Abemaciclib to Olaparib for Women With Recurrent Ovarian Cancer
ClinicalTrials.gov ID: NCT04633239
What this study is testing
What is Abemaciclib?
Abemaciclib is an investigational medicine, given as an once-daily pill taken by mouth, being studied as a potential treatment for recurrent ovarian high grade serous adenocarcinoma.
Also referred to as LY 2835219, LY-2835219.
Plain-language explanation of the investigational treatment - it is being studied and is not an approved or proven therapy. The study team can confirm the details.
- What it's testing
- This phase I/Ib trial identifies the side effects and best dose of abemaciclib when given together with olaparib in treating patients with ovarian cancer that responds at first to treatment with drugs that contain the metal platinum but then comes back within a certain period (recurrent platinum-resistant). Abemaciclib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.
- Phase 1: an early, usually small safety study
