New treatment option for Breast Cancer Female
Official title The MASTER Study (MAmmary Cancer STatin ER Positive Study)
ClinicalTrials.gov ID: NCT04601116
What this study is testing
What is Atorvastatin 80 Mg Oral Tablet?
Atorvastatin 80 Mg Oral Tablet is an investigational medicine, being studied as a potential treatment for breast cancer female.
Plain-language explanation of the investigational treatment - it is being studied and is not an approved or proven therapy. The study team can confirm the details.
- What it's testing
- Given the compelling evidence supporting a protective effect of statins on breast cancer recurrence, calls for prospective clinical trials have been expressed. In this trial - the MASTER trial - we hypothesize that the addition of statin treatment to the current breast cancer treatment will improve the prognosis of women with early breast cancer.
- Phase 3: a large, late-stage study
- You might receive a placebo (an inactive treatment) instead of the study drug, decided by chance. You may not know which one you got.
