New treatment option for Castration Levels of Testosterone
Official title Standard Systemic Therapy With or Without Definitive Treatment in Treating Participants With Metastatic Prostate Cancer
ClinicalTrials.gov ID: NCT03678025
What this study is testing
What is Abiraterone?
Abiraterone is an investigational medicine, given as an once-daily injection under the skin, being studied as a potential treatment for castration levels of testosterone.
Also referred to as CB 7598.
Plain-language explanation of the investigational treatment - it is being studied and is not an approved or proven therapy. The study team can confirm the details.
- What it's testing
- This phase III trial studies how well standard systemic therapy with or without definitive treatment (prostate removal surgery or radiation therapy) works in treating participants with prostate cancer that has spread to other places in the body. Addition of prostate removal surgery or radiation therapy to standard systemic therapy for prostate cancer may lower the chance of the cancer growing or spreading.
- Phase 3: a large, late-stage study
