New treatment option for Ganglioneuroblastoma
Official title Testing the Addition of 131I-MIBG or Lorlatinib to Intensive Therapy in People With High-Risk Neuroblastoma (NBL)
ClinicalTrials.gov ID: NCT03126916
What this study is testing
What is Busulfan?
Busulfan is an investigational medicine, given as an once-daily injection under the skin, being studied as a potential treatment for ganglioneuroblastoma.
Also referred to as 1, 4-Bis[methanesulfonoxy]butane, BUS.
Plain-language explanation of the investigational treatment - it is being studied and is not an approved or proven therapy. The study team can confirm the details.
- What it's testing
- This phase III trial studies iobenguane I-131 or lorlatinib and standard therapy in treating younger patients with newly-diagnosed high-risk neuroblastoma or ganglioneuroblastoma. Radioactive drugs, such as iobenguane I-131, may carry radiation directly to tumor cells and not harm normal cells.
- Phase 3: a large, late-stage study
